About the lunar cycle
The Moon completes a full cycle of phases — new, first quarter, full, last quarter — every 29.53 days on average (a synodic month). Because that is shorter than most calendar months, phase dates drift earlier through the year, and occasionally a month fits two full moons. All times here are computed locally in your browser from standard astronomical series; nothing is fetched from a server.

How accurate are these phase times?
Phase instants are computed with the standard astronomical series from Meeus’ "Astronomical Algorithms" (the same math behind most almanacs) and are typically within a few minutes of observatory values for modern dates. The current illumination percentage is a smooth approximation.
Why does the full moon date differ between sources sometimes?
The instant of full moon is a single worldwide moment, but its calendar date depends on the time zone. A full moon at 23:30 UTC is already “tomorrow” in Asia. This page shows both UTC and your local time.
What is a supermoon or a blue moon?
A supermoon is a full moon near the Moon’s closest point to Earth (it looks slightly larger); a blue moon commonly means the second full moon within one calendar month. Both are informal names, not astronomical phase types.
