How to use
- Add the cities you are scheduling with. The first row is your home city — the strip is aligned to its local day, and the ⌂ button moves that role to another row.
- Drag across the hour tiles. The selection appears on every row at once, in that city's own local time.
- Fine-tune it: drag either edge, hold Shift for 5-minute steps, or type an exact start time and duration.
- Send it out — Google Calendar, Outlook, an .ics file for Apple Calendar and Thunderbird, a pre-filled Gmail draft, a plain-text summary, or an event page link.
Everything travels as an instant
A cross-zone meeting goes wrong in one of two ways: someone writes down a local time without the zone, or someone converts it by hand using an offset that has since changed. Both are avoided by never storing a wall-clock reading. Your selection is one UTC instant plus a duration, and every row, every calendar export and every shared link is derived from it. Two participants can be looking at different dates and both be right.
That is also why the strip does not always show 24 tidy local hours. Each tile is one real hour after the last, so on a clock-change day the labels skip or repeat. It looks odd for a second and then it saves you an hour of confusion, because the transition is visible in the row where it actually happens.
Sharing without an account
Both the selection link and the event page carry the whole selection in the URL — the instant, the length, the title and the city list. There is no record on our side to look up, expire or leak, which also means the link is the only copy: if you change the plan, send a new one.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the meeting planner?
The meeting planner answers “which hours work for everyone?” by checking each participant’s working hours. This board answers “what exactly did we agree on?” — you drag out a real slot with a start, an end and a duration, and every city shows the range on its own clock. Use the planner to find the hour, this board to pin it down and send it out.
What do the tile colours mean?
They are a quick read of each city’s day: teal for 9–17, warm for the early morning and evening shoulders, indigo for 22–06 and grey for weekends. Nothing depends on colour alone — every tile shows its local hour as text and carries the full local date and time in its tooltip.
Can I select something other than whole hours?
Yes. A plain drag snaps to whole tiles; dragging either edge of the selection snaps to 30 minutes, and holding Shift while you drag switches to 5-minute steps. Without a pointer, the start time field takes any 5-minute value and the duration list covers 15 minutes to 8 hours.
Which time is actually stored when I export?
A single UTC instant plus a duration. Google Calendar, Outlook and the .ics file all receive that instant, so each guest’s calendar renders it in their own zone and it stays correct even if a country changes its clocks between now and the meeting.
What does the event page link do?
It builds a URL that carries the instant, the duration, the title and the city list. Anyone who opens it sees the slot in their own local time next to every city on the list, with a live countdown — no account and no sign-in on either side. Nothing is stored on a server; the link itself is the invitation.
Why does the strip sometimes show a repeated or missing hour?
Because that is what the clocks do. The tiles step forward one real hour at a time, so on a spring-forward day a local hour is skipped and on a fall-back day one repeats. Most tools hide this and quietly place your meeting an hour out; here you can see the transition and drag around it.
